Main Fields of Cooperation  

The legal basis between Georgia and Ukraine includes more than 100 bilateral and multilateral agreements that regulate almost every field of cooperation between the two countries.

One of the main priorities of cooperation between Georgia and Ukraine is the development of regional transport and energy projects. Cooperation in the field of transport has been successfully implemented in both civil aviation and road transport direction.

Cooperation in the field of tourism is also successfully developing. Introductive tours and exhibitions are often held at the Ukrainian travel market, in order to promote Georgian touristic potential. The number of tourists visiting Georgia from Ukraine is increasing annually. Georgia and Ukraine, are also cooperating for Japanese tourist market – in the framework of GUAM joint tourism project.

Close cultural and humanitarian cooperation evolves between Georgia and Ukraine. Scientific and educational ties between the two countries leading universities are established. Agreements on cooperation between higher educational institutions of two countries are mutually signed.

Group of Friendship with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is operating at the Parliament of Georgia.

Cooperation in banking, finance, agriculture, light industry, health care, sports and youth, regional and infrastructure and other important areas is successfully developing.

 

Economic Cooperation (2009-2012)

Ukraine is one of the most important trading partner. Free trade regime is operating between Georgia and Ukraine, which is a legally regulated both in bilateral and multilateral format (within GUAM framework). During the years Ukraine is keeping the 3rd place between the main trade-economic partners of Georgia.

Meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee, Vice- Prime-minister level and business-forums are regularly held between Georgia and Ukraine.
